Law and Order
I enjoy the TV show Law and Order. I’m never happier than when I learn there is a Law and Order marathon planned for the weekend. Yet, just last night when a new episode was on, I forced myself to go outside instead of sitting down to watch the show. Like some of you, I had to mow the grass for the third time this week!
Don’t get me wrong. I actually enjoy being out on my John Deere Tractor grooming my lawn. I love being outdoors and the sense of accomplishment I experience when I see that the attention I give the yard does make a difference – even if I miss my favorite TV drama.
King Solomon said, “then I realized that it is good and proper for a man…to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him.” Yes, I have work to do and the strength to do it – so for that I should thank my God.
Along the line…many of our guests at Wheeler Mission are looking for employment. If you or someone you know have suitable employment opportunities, please call and ask to speak to a Case Manager at our Women’s Center at 637-2916. You may call the Lighthouse Center at 687-6795 for any job opportunities for men. We would certainly appreciate you spreading the word about these folks in need of employment.
